Authentic wasn't created to be just another podcast. It was born from a simple belief: every person has a story worth telling.
My story begins in Jamaica, where I grew up with my grandmother. My roots and upbringing are part of the foundation of who I am, shaping how I see the world, how I connect with people, and how I understand the experiences that make us who we are. As life unfolded, I came to appreciate that behind every person is a story we may never fully understand until we take the time to listen.
In a world where we often feel pressured to present only the highlights of our lives, I wanted to create something different. A space where we could move beyond appearances and have honest conversations about the victories, the challenges, the doubts, the dreams, and the defining moments that shape our journeys.
For me, some of the most meaningful stories aren't necessarily told on the biggest stages. They live in the everyday experiences, the lessons learned through hardship, the courage it takes to start again, and the moments when we choose to keep going even when the path ahead is uncertain.
That's what inspired me to create Authentic.
Not simply to interview people, but to create a platform where individuals feel seen, heard, and valued. A place where creatives, community leaders, professionals, and everyday people can share the experiences that have shaped them, the lessons they've learned, and the parts of their journeys that might encourage someone else.
Because I've come to believe that our stories are about more than where we started or where we are today. They're about everything in between. The becoming, the setbacks, the breakthroughs, and the courage it takes to show up as ourselves.
Authentic is my way of making room for those stories. Through real people, real stories, and real conversations, I hope to remind others that their experiences matter, their voices deserve to be heard, and their journeys are worth embracing.
Because sometimes, hearing someone else's story helps us better understand our own.
